The Volkswagen T25 (or T3 as some refer to it) replaced the iconic Volkswagen Type 2 from the end of the Seventies. The T25 was squarer and heavier than its predecessor but it was also larger allowing more cargo to be carried. The T25 was also notable in that it was the last in a long line of Volkswagen rear engined vehicles. These engines originally were air cooled but these were eventually phased out and replaced by water cooled engines commonly seen in today's cars and vans.
There were many variations of the T25 over the years. As well as panel vans, a cab variety of the T25 was manufactured and many were built as/have been converted into campervans. One variation which has got a small but very strong following is the "Syncro" branded 4x4 versions. Given that the majority of T25 vans are now over 20 years old it is a testament to the vehicle's design, build quality and owner affection that so many are still on the road.
As it gets older and older, keeping T25's on the road will require more and more attention. Luckily there are lots of different T25 forumsand T25 parts suppliers to help out. If you are not lucky to own a T25 van yet you can find many for sale on forums or auction sites.
